Machine Gun Kelly shared his victory over drug addiction on “The Dumb Blonde Podcast” on Monday.
The 34-year-old, known offstage as Colson Baker, revealed he has been sober from alcohol and drugs for a full year.
“I’m totally sober about everything. I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t had a drink since August of last year,” Machine Gun Kelly told the audience, a first since he began battling addiction to alcohol, cocaine and heroin. Important milestones.

“I didn’t tell anyone except the people closest to me. It was the first time I went to rehab,” he admits. “They just gave me a lot of ways to manipulate my body and showed me where this anger was coming from and how to calm it down.”
Machine Gun Kelly’s journey to recovery included extensive therapy and he met with numerous psychiatrists.
“Some people gave up on me, and a lot of therapists did the same thing,” he shared. “But I eventually realized my situation and accepted it. It was like a constant tightrope walk.
His motivation for embracing sobriety is deeply personal. Machine Gun Kelly has previously said he wants to turn his life around for his fiancée Megan Fox and daughter Casey.
