Mac Jones has defended Lil Wayne after he and Future pitted themselves against each other in the latest trending social media debate.
In case you missed it, a tweet from one user sparked a debate on Twitter about who had the better feature between Future and Lil Wayne. The controversy has since spread to other social media apps such as Instagram, with users battling it out in a series of keyboard warrior competitions designed to resolve the controversy in some way.
It all started when famed battle rap journalist Rosenberg Raw posted a comment on Twitter (X) declaring that Future’s 2010s-era feature run was better than Weezy’s mid-to-late 2000s stomp. Specifically, the years that Wayne is considering making the feature film are from 2006 to 2013.
“If we keep the 1,000 mark, the 2012-2017 Future Run will probably be better than the Waynes run,” Rosenberg Raw tweeted.
Almost immediately, users began taking aim at his bold claim, with a flood of replies supporting Wayne as a future feature king.
In a quoted reply to the original tweet, one user wrote: “No, we’ve never seen a poem’s anticipation rise immediately with a flick…without any words.”
Another user added: “I love my future but please be friends.”
However, there are several users who seem to be making a case for Future to take the GOAT crown.
One user noted: “This sounds crazy but 6 of Future’s 7 items are not skipped and are stuck anywhere near.” Another user added, “You’re not wrong but It’s close. Still the future >Wayne.

When the debate reached IG users, real-life rappers started chiming in, in this case Swisha House rap legend Mike Jones, who ended up picking up right where the debate left off. However, the “Then” rapper took a different approach when it came to Wayne’s defense, highlighting what each lyricist did after the “epic” featured performance.
“Not at all!” Mac Jones wrote in part. “Both runs were silly, but who did Wayne put in after his epic run? Who will he put in the future after his epic run? That shows a true legacy because the game has to continue to evolve. And keep growing #YoungMoney.
While it’s nearly impossible to quantify this argument as a final decision on the winner and loser in the fight, there are a number of factors that favor Wayne over the future. I’m thinking mainly of the 2013 Future feature for Wayne on his I Am Not a Human Being II track “Love Me” with Drake.
The song was one of the highest-charting albums Future produced during the extended window of the 2010s, having previously peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Wayne, on the other hand, contributed to at least two chart-topping hits during his reign in the mid-to-late 2000s with songs like Jay Sean’s hit “Down.”
