Lupe Fiasco has released a new song called “Shrink” off what he calls his “CRS” record.
If you remember, CRS stands for Child Rebel Soldier, the late 2000s supergroup that comprised Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams.
In a recent interview with Stereogum, Lupe said the idea for the band was to rap about the decline of “Radiohead’s ethereal ass beats” made famous, but when he realized a combo with his two collaborators wasn’t going to work, He decided to pursue the idea on his own.
“I will be relaunching CRS within the next six months, maybe next year,” Fiasco said. “Tyler, [The Creator] Have one of the CRS records. But it goes back to the original energy, which was me rapping over a Radiohead beat.
