Ludacris has sparked concerns about his health after filming himself drinking water straight from an Alaskan glacier.
In a video posted to Instagram on Monday (August 26), the rapper and actor can be seen standing on the edge of the ice cap, filling his flask with ice-cold water.
“I can’t come here just to see a show,” Luda says in the video. “You know I have a bucket list – or as I like to call it, a fucking list. I’ve never tasted fresh glacier water in my life, and this is the first time. Here we go!
The “Act a Fool” hitmaker then took a sip of water and yelled “Oh my God!” while running away in surprise.
He added in the Instagram caption: “The water is so good it tastes like God made it. Well, because He did.
Ludacris’s less-than-positive reaction to drinking water worried many fans, including Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr.
Jackson Jr. commented on
“I see a lot of people throwing insults at each other, but still water is still water. Boil that shit and let it cool again,” he wrote, while sharing a video warning people of the risks of drinking glacier water.
In the film, a man claims he was “sick for two weeks” after drinking 600,000-year-old glacier water, even though it was “the best water I think I’ve ever drunk.”
…How long ago did he take this photo? Have we been monitoring him? https://t.co/ovCD3gp0do

Ludacris later responded to the criticism in a video posted on X and showed no signs of ill health.
“Yo, everybody asks me what glacier water tastes like, and when I tell you guys I’m a water snob, this is the best water I’ve ever had in my life,” he said.
“When I drink it, I feel like every cell in my body is simultaneously hydrated and rejuvenated […] I feel like superman. Love to all the fans. It’s a different way of life. I just want to take over all your places and show you all the stuff. Come on now.
Drinking glacier water can be potentially dangerous as it may contain diseases, pathogens and bacteria that are harmful to humans.
Some diseases have been frozen in glaciers for hundreds of years and remain in the water after they melt. Tardigrades, which are less than a millimeter in size, can also be found in the water.
Dangerous metals such as mercury, zinc and cadmium have also been detected in glacier water.
