Cardi B has won another victory in her defamation battle with YouTuber Tasha K. After a long legal saga, Cardi will be receiving $1.2 million from Tasha in monthly installments over five years. This comes after Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, filed for bankruptcy, but the court ruled in favor of Cardi, who had accused Tasha of spreading harmful false rumors about her.
Back in 2019, Cardi sued Tasha for defamation after the YouTuber made false claims about the rapper, including alleging she had herpes and worked as a prostitute. Cardi’s emotional testimony about the anxiety and depression caused by these claims helped her win the case in 2022, with a $4 million judgment.
Now, with the bankruptcy repayment plan in place, Tasha K must pay $176,532 by the end of this year, and adhere to a legal agreement that forbids her from publishing any defamatory content about Cardi or her family. Cardi’s attorney, Lisa Moore, stated that the plan was a significant victory, protecting Cardi from further harm.
As a pioneering rapper and media personality, Cardi B’s rise from Vine and Instagram videos to one of hip-hop’s biggest stars has been marked by chart-topping success and numerous accolades. This court victory adds to her legacy as she continues to dominate the industry.
