Lil Baby has officially set his goals higher for 2025 with the release of his fourth studio album WHAM (Who Hard As Me). The 15-track project, released on January 3, fuses the Atlanta native’s signature sound with a host of A-list collaborators. Young Thug, Future, Travis Scott, Rod Wave, GloRilla, 21 Savage and more all appeared. The little baby doesn’t want to play anymore.
Based on a first listen, WHAM feels like a public move aimed at solidifying Baby’s dominance in the current rap landscape. Songs like “FU 2X” immediately stand out and bring back the grit we all know ATL represents. This album certainly showcases Baby’s versatility and growth as an artist.
Another highlight is “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber,” which reunites Future and Young Thug. For Thugger, this is not just a feature, but a triumphant return to the booth. He looked back on his time in prison. He says, “Yeah, n###a, the Spider King’s back/I can’t even believe I’m locked up, really, really/I’ve been doing it my way, fool, you know I’m What to do?” I said. ”
The song is Thug’s first since being released from prison in October. He defended the now infamous YSL RICO case. Future shows off his usual swagger, making the song immediately stand out. GloRilla and Rod Wave added some depth to WHAM, thereby raising Lil Baby’s profile.
He didn’t give up. Lil Baby confirmed that the deluxe version of WHAM will be released on January 7th.
