Lil Yachty’s dream album doesn’t include JAY-Z, and that’s because he’s just listened to some of the legendary rapper’s most classic albums.
The Atlanta native was a guest on the latest episode of the Flagrant podcast, released Wednesday (July 31). Co-host Alexx Media made the shocking admission when he pointed out that Hov was apparently not on Yachty’s list of dream features.
“I listened to ‘The Black Album’ for the first time three days ago,” he revealed at a press conference. “Then I listened to Reasonable Doubt. Aaaand – I thought Reasonable Doubt was the better album. He’s a crazy lyricist. I don’t really like De La’s work – that type, that sound.
He continued: “But I think he’s sick. I think the shit he talks about is like shit that most people never really experience in their lives.
Last year, during the premiere of his podcast A Safe Place, Lil Yachty had a heated opinion of JAY-Z, arguing that DaBaby’s lyrics on Kanye West’s Donda cut “Jail” were better than his.
“Something I’ve been wanting to talk about for a long time,” Yachty began. “Jail,” a collaboration with Kanye West.
“It’s got the greatest rapper of all time, and DaBaby,” his co-host MitchGoneMad chimed in.
“In my personal opinion, I think DaBaby has a better verse,” Yachty continued. “I know JAY-Z’s dialogue with DaBaby is crazy, but I honestly think his verse is better.
“Anyway, I think this is going to get me hot. Maybe not as intense as the whole Biggie thing I dealt with in 2016.
Mitch went on to say that DaBaby would probably knock out Hough physically, but he wasn’t sure about Yachti’s personal opinion. He then reminded Yachty that the Roc Nation boss brought Oprah to the housing project in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up, in 2009.
“Who cares,” Yachti said with a smile.
Kanye West originally released “Jail” with JAY-Z in August 2021 when Donda debuted on the streaming service. It includes guest vocals from DaBaby and vocals from Marilyn Manson.
