Super Bowl is a big business, and along with the game, major companies are popping up a lot of bags for big game ads. Some of the most famous names for rap are making cameos in these expensive promotions.
While Lil Wayne received no call from his hometown of New Orleans and apparently wouldn’t even play, he found himself in a Super Bowl ad for Skincare Line Cetaphil. In the promotion, Weezy pops up in different situations where sensitive situations occur to make lotion pop up. In one example, the father meets his daughter’s boyfriend for the first time and notices the condom in the boy’s purse.
“Damn it, it’s very sensitive.” Wayne yelled at the surprise mother as he stepped in and offered a bottle of lotion.
Beer company Bud Light once again pursued Malone’s Super Bowl ad, which found the rapper sent out a beer invitation via Leafblower and started a Cul-De-Sac party with his partner.
Ludacris is also in the big game ad for Häagen-Dazs ice cream. The ad is a callback to the speed and angry movie franchise, and also includes actors Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez. When Luda pulled up and shouted, “Hey, what happened to life quickly?”
“Not today,” Vin responded as Smoky Robinson’s “Cruisin” played.
Last year, LL Cool J, Jack Harlow, Fat Joe, Post Malone, Ice Spice and more cameo in Super Bowl ads. Ye even bought a seat for his Yeezy series, which led him to promote the company in a weird selfie video.
According to USA Today, this year’s Super Bowl ads will be about $70,000-8 million in 30 seconds this year.
