Lil Wayne’s performance on SNL50: Anniversary Special sparked heated debate among fans, prompting his daughter Reginae Carter to move forward into rap idols.
Dave Chappelle introduced Weezy on Sunday (February 16) to the stage for Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special. His roots and DJ T. Lewis also joined his hits including “Uproar”, “Lollipop”, “6-foot-7”, “Mrs. Officer” and “Milly”.

The SNL50 special is a three-hour star-studded event on NBC and Peacock, which includes iconic sketches, musical performances, and performances by former actors and special guests.
While many fans applauded the scenes of Lil Wayne, others found it incredible. Some use the performance of the young currency founder as a testament to why he didn’t pick him for the Super Bowl, while others claim he surpassed Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show.
“I love Lil Wayne,” one fan shared. “But this SNL performance makes people who say he should play the Super Bowl look even stupid.”
“People are serious about Lil Wayne being supposed to have a Super Bowl halftime show on Kendrick.” “Please watch this SNL show.”
One third declared: “This SNL performance proves that Lil Wayne shouldn’t be doing the Super Bowl.”
However, Lil Wayne’s eldest son, Reginae Carter, fired a shot at the critics.
“You are some D riders!” she wrote on Instagram. “My father has been acting for many years! When he was on stage, he was really himself. Go and play with your MF kids… He collected a check after this. Not a damn thing!”
