Lil Wayne’s latest criticism of NFL teams in the ongoing high-stakes playoffs has come back to him in a humorous way.
Jason and Travis Kelce appeared on a new episode of their New Heights podcast on Tuesday (January 22) after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans in the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs . One of the things the brotherly pair of professional athletes talked about without restraint was the Chiefs’ victory in the game, which kept their hopes of a three-peat Super Bowl alive.
Travis finished the game with a strong performance, catching 7 passes for a total of 117 yards and 1 touchdown. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also had a pretty impressive game in the team’s 23-14 win over the Texans – completing 16 of 25 passes, advancing 177 yards and 1 touchdown. Despite a strong performance from the team’s dynamic duo and other key players doing their part, Lil Wayne was underwhelmed by the win. In fact, during the game on January 18, he tweeted in disbelief, “I hate the cheating azz Chiefs.” He also tweeted: “When you cheat and then clearly try to cheat, it’s not impressive at all. Just win baby.
I hate cheating azz chief

Wayne was not the only one to criticize the Chiefs, with many fans flocking to social media to post comments about referees fixing games and instigating jokes that suggested the team used age-old “black magic” to win. Ultimately, however, the brothers seemed to take Wayne’s words and the weight of the world with a grain of salt. “The whole world was talking about other things during the game, and I’m sure you saw some of that, but they were complaining about the referee again, Trav,” Jason said. “Even Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne [wrote on social media]”, “I hate cheating – Chiefs. So an a- with two z’s.
Travis just laughed and replied, “Shout out to Tunage, man.”
Travis likely gave Wayne a pass because of their personal relationship. Last May, Weezy not only performed at the Kelce Jam Music Festival in Kansas, but he also jumped on stage with Wayne when Travis brought out 2 Chainz, even allowing the rappers to hold the Lombardi Trophy while performing.
