Deion Sanders is fully supportive of Lil Wayne and his latest album Tha Carter VI, calling the rapper “The Goat!” in an Instagram Story post a few days after the project was slammed by critics.
The two-word message of the University of Colorado Boulder football coach appears when the album is wasted in music shops.
Despite the rebound, Sanders stood by New Orleans artists and continued friendships have developed through shared appearances and mutual admiration over the past few years.
Lil Wayne performed in Colorado football in 2023 and has been in close relationships with Sanders and his players including Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.
The album dropped Friday (June 13) and included the track “Written History,” Wayne’s last name Sanders and Alabama coaching legend Nick Saban.
Sanders’ public praise is more than just casual shouting. It was loyalty in the midst of Lil Wayne’s tough release week.
Lil Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter also defended her father’s art last weekend, saying music was meant to surpass social media trends.
She started saying, “You said Carter Six is trash. That’s good. That’s what you want to say.” “But let me tell you something about my father and Carter Six. That’s how I hate you, kids. None of you can’t get on Tiktok and do af ########################################, it doesn’t mean that it’s trash, baby.”
