Lil Uzi Vert is a mysterious figure. They bring authenticity and emotional nakedness to the music, but at the same time, they remain vague about the details. Lil Uzi Vert is ultimately a character, and the release of his new album can prove it. “Eternal Atake 2” casts the rapper as an alien creature whose memory has been erased and who has a mysterious mission. It’s understandable if people get caught up in the show and forget that Uzi also dealt with personal struggles behind the scenes. In fact, the most unexpected part of his new album is about these struggles.

Lil Uzi Vert kicks off Eternal Atake 2 with the epic song “We Good.” It’s roomy and aggressive, just as fans hoped from Uzi’s introduction. It sets up the main themes of the album nicely, but there’s one line that stands out. The rapper decided to break his silence on the accusations that they were addicted to nitrous. “They said I was lost,” they said. “They think I’m dead, I’ve been put on the NOS list.” NOS is slang for nitrous, and the statement seemed to confirm the fears of many fans.

Lil Uzi Vert appears to admit to inhaling gas

A video of Lil Uzi Vert appearing to inhale a balloon filled with nitrous acid went viral in August. The rapper allegedly ran out of gas in the studio and could be seen giggling afterward. Uzi fans voiced their concerns and wanted to see the rapper clean up his act. Uzi’s video was released shortly after Kanye West was accused of suffering from a nitrous addiction. A dangerous pattern appears to have emerged, but neither artist has directly addressed the accusations. Of course, so far. Lil Uzi Vert admits he has a problem with drug abuse, and his choice of words suggests it’s no longer an issue.

The launch of “Eternal Atake 2” also hints at Lil Uzi Vert’s creative repositioning. The rapper dropped the incredible drop a week before the album’s release. From the promos to the teaser songs to the imagery, everything seems intentional. Uzi is back on track, and if we take his word for it, we can easily determine that quitting dangerous habits had a direct impact on this focus. We’re happy to have Uzi back.

The first album he bought was Will Smith’s “Big Willie Style,” which he thinks still sounds great.
