Lil Skies was arrested for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run incident in Pennsylvania.
According to the Chambersburg Police Department, the rapper (real name Kimitrius Foss) was arrested on May 20 after being involved in a car accident and then fled the scene.
After the accident, Sky allegedly sped away in his car without exchanging messages with the people in the other car.
The 25-year-old man has been released, according to Franklin County Jail inmate records, but the terms of his bail and the status of his case remain unclear.
Sky has yet to comment publicly on the incident.
The Soundcloud star, who rose to fame in 2017, has previously spoken out about his distaste for drugs, particularly slimming pills and Xanax.
“I have nothing against people who do this kind of thing, [but] For me, it’s not a way of life,” he told French outlet Rap Fire Officiel. “I don’t want to depend on anything [like that]. I’m scared, I’m not going to sit here and act like I want to do drugs. I knew my trip was going to be terrible, so I wasn’t going to do it.
He added: “That’s the kind of person I am – my mind is too strong, I think too hard. I’m not going to put myself in a situation where I’m going to screw up. But I’ve seen drugs really ruin me. Friend, having some of my friends jailed for life is not for me.
Despite Skies’ previous criticism of drug use, he later held a virtual concert to celebrate 4/20.
The “Noawadays” hitmaker recently released the mixtape “Out Ur Body Music,” although it failed to chart on the Billboard charts.
His most successful project is his 2019 debut album “Shelby”, which ranked No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and was subsequently certified gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
The project features appearances from Gucci Mane, Gunna and SoundCloud rapper Landon Cube.
