Lil Durk is being held in a Florida prison on suspicion of a murder-for-hire conspiracy in connection with a 2022 murder.
The 31-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday (October 24) and is being held without bail at the Broward County Jail, facing one count of murder-for-hire, according to court records.
He is expected to be transferred to the custody of U.S. Marshals pending federal proceedings.
The charges stem from the August 2022 murder of Saviay’a Robinson, a cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, in West Hollywood, California.
Robinson was shot to death at a gas station, and authorities accused Lil Durk of offering money and “lucrative music opportunities” to anyone willing to kill Quando Rondo.
Prosecutors presented evidence that the plot was an act of revenge following the November 2020 killing of rapper King Von, a close associate of Lil Durk.
Federal investigators said the flights and rental vehicles used by the suspects were financed through credit cards tied to OTF tags, suggesting a coordinated effort within the organization.
King Von, an important member of the Durk organization “On The Family” (OTF), was reportedly killed by Timothy “Lul Tim” Leaks in Atlanta on November 6, 2020.
Tim was charged with felony murder in King Von’s death, but those charges were eventually dropped.
In addition to Lil Durk’s arrest, five alleged OTF affiliates were detained in Chicago on charges related to the case.
The men, Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston, face a series of federal charges including conspiracy to commit murder for hire, murder for hire involving death and use of a machine gun during a violent crime resulting in death.
If convicted, Lil Durk and his associates could face severe penalties, including life in prison or possibly the death penalty.
