LiAngelo Ball (G3)’s new song goes viral
On January 3, Ball, nicknamed G3, officially released the new song after teasing it online. The song was produced by Kunica and Glockiecheez, with the California native rapping in a Southern drawl over an upbeat beat that sounds right for the late 1990s and early 2000s.
“I might turn, bend that corner, whoa whoa,” he raps on the infectious chorus. “B***h, hold on ’cause I adjust and this b***h, start letting go / I heard she wanna show me who she is, I’m kind of fuckin’ with it, give it to me Look at some mo/B***h, we got tattoos from head to toe, can give af**k, the story reads/Do you want to tune in with me? Money blow/They’re interested in me as well, these mean niggas Ghosts don’t know.
The song spread like wildfire online, with many joking about the song’s time capsule vibe.
“This is the only proper way to listen to LiAngelo Ball’s new song,” one user captioned a photo of the disc with the song’s title on X.
“Gelo Ball’s song ‘Tweaker’ brought back the 2000s all over the internet,” someone else posted.
Even celebrities are getting in on the act. Lil Yachty posted a video on social media of himself dancing to the infectious clip. Detroit Lions players played the song in the locker room on Sunday (Jan. 5) to celebrate their win over the Minnesota Vikings.
“Tweaker is the new ‘Put That Sh*t On,'” Freddie Gibbs recently commented on the song on X, referencing former NFL player Antonio Brown )’s viral hit.
The song has attracted widespread attention, and G3 has been booked to perform at Rolling Loud California in March. The song has already caused some controversy as LiAngelo’s brother, NBA player Lonzo Ball, is listed as a co-writer on the song. However, he denied helping write the track.
