Jay-Z was quick to deny recent lawsuit accusations that he and Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulted a minor, and accused the victim’s attorney of attempted extortion. He also requested an emergency court hearing to reveal the identity of his accuser; however, her lawyer Tony Buzby believes these actions may ultimately backfire on him.
A Houston lawyer posted a long post on social media on Monday night (December 9) denying the blackmail and extortion charges.
“No one made any threats,” Buzbee began. “Jay Z’s claims are false and laughable. Instead, our firm sent a standard demand letter seeking mediation on behalf of a woman who accused Jay-Z of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor.
He went on to accuse JAY-Z and his team of breaking the law and harassing his family. Buzbee described Hof’s response to the lawsuit as “a concerted, desperate effort to focus public attention on me personally” and away from the accusations.
“This behavior ranges from harassing my family and colleagues to even offering money to former clients to sue me,” he added. “This is illegal.”
A woman named “Jane Doe” has filed an amended lawsuit alleging that JAY-Z and Diddy sexually assaulted her at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards after-party when she was 13 age. She filed her original complaint in October and implicated Hov in an amendment on Sunday (Dec. 8).
JAY-Z slams Tony Buzbee: Criminal charges filed
JAY-Z has vehemently denied the accusations, calling the lawsuit an “outrageous” extortion attempt orchestrated by Tony Buzbee.
Buzbee said JAY-Z’s decisive actions following the lawsuit hinted at his underlying guilt. The lawyer quoted a line from Shakespeare’s Hamlet to emphasize his point. “I think this woman protested too much,” he wrote.
“We intend to resolve all of these issues with the courts at the appropriate time,” Buzbee concluded. “Let me be clear: We will not be bullied or intimidated by these shenanigans. Our customers will not be silenced.
On Monday (December 9), JAY-Z called on the federal court to expedite a hearing to resolve the allegations. He also actively fought to break the anonymity of his anonymous accusers.
