The chart position isn’t the only noteworthy thing about Molasses Iced Tea. Fans also noted that some of the album’s lyrics fueled her long-running feud with Ice Spice.
The project features a song called “S/O to Me,” in which a ClayCo (Clayton County, Georgia) representative appears to take a shot at her competitor.
In the first verse, Lato raps, “Bye, sis, funny thing, you can’t look me in the eye, sis,” which ties into Ice Spice’s name, Isis.
The second verse hears her spit: “Yell to yourself/Who’s the hardest? Bitch, it’s Lato alone/When the ice melts it’s water/Clean you up, I’ve got plenty of towels on the shelf.”
Audiences quickly noticed this. Akademiks wrote on Instagram: “Rato teased Ice Spice on the new album. Y’all think Ice Spice should pick up a stick, or do y’all think their bars don’t need a response?
