Ksoo’s father is serving a prison sentence for cooperating with the government in his son’s murder.
Abdul Robinson Sr. appeared in the Duval County Courthouse in Florida on Friday (November 21) for a sentencing hearing. Judge Tatiana Salvador sentenced the elder Robinson to 1,898 days in prison, which is time he has already served in prison since he was arrested and charged with being an accessory to a crime in connection with the 2020 murder of rapper Charles “Lil Buck” McCormick.
Robinson will now serve two years of electronically monitored supervised release, followed by three years of probation. The Salvadoran judge told Robinson that although she knew he now had a target on his back, he was prohibited from possessing a firearm. Robinson notified the judge of his plans to relocate.
Before being sentenced, Robinson read a prepared statement to the court in which he discussed why he decided to testify against Ksoo, born Hakeem Robinson, and his co-defendants, who were directly involved in McCormick’s murder.
“I still love [Ksoo]. I never stopped loving him and I knew he hated me,” Robinson said. “I have three kids, ages 10, 7 and 6. I don’t want to lose them…I’m not saying I love them more than I love Hakeem. I had to choose someone who wasn’t too evil. This is a difficult situation for a father. “
In July, Ksoo and ATK Scotty were convicted of shooting McCormick in retaliation for a diss song. Ksoo’s father, who was charged with accessory after the fact for helping Scotty and co-defendant Dominique “Butta” Barner flee the area after the shooting, testified that he had no prior knowledge of the crime. Robinson also identified Ksoo as the shooter from surveillance video.
Ksoo and Scotty were sentenced to life in prison in September after losing appeals.
