Klay Thompson etched his relationship with Megan Thee Stallion into the annals of sailing history when he renamed his boat the SS Stallion during a recent West Coast vacation, a move that sparked heated debate about how serious the relationship between the NBA star and the Grammy-winning rapper was.
The Dallas Mavericks guard casually paid the tribute by posting a photo from his coastal road trip on Instagram with the caption, “West Coast.” Among the landscape photos is a clear image of his boat’s stern, newly labeled “SS Stallion” with “Houston, Texas” printed underneath, a clear nod to Meghan’s hometown.
Meg stood on the boat wearing brown boots and fitted jeans, with her back to the camera.

The timing of the reveal is also noteworthy. Megan recently released a new single in which she references Clay’s “stroke game,” and now he’s returning the favor by writing her name on his boat.
The romantic gesture comes as the couple’s relationship continues to escalate. The two only went public with their relationship in July, but they’ve been making big moves ever since.
Last month, the rapper posted a photo that many believed proved she and Klay Thompson had bought a house together in California and had moved in.
Come Thanksgiving, another milestone came when Meghan cooked dinner for Clay’s entire family. She even posted behind-the-scenes footage of her preparations.
While their relationship seems to be flourishing, not everyone is supportive. During a recent episode of the “Hoopin’ N Hollerin” podcast, former NBA players Jason Williams and Patrick Beverley made vulgar comments blaming Megan for Klay’s lackluster shooting this season.
Clay called the comments “disgusting” and defended Meghan against what many saw as unfounded sexist criticism.
From sharing a home to holiday dinners and now having a boat named after her, Clay and Meghan appear to be fully committed to their relationship.
