The elusive Kid Cudi, who has been recovering from a leg injury, finds his feet in the latest music video for his song “Superboy” from his latest album, Insano (nitro super). In the film, Cudi is in Seoul, South Korea, where he can be seen rapping, singing and performing at Dongdaemun History and Culture Park.

If you haven’t heard the song yet, the song is a strangely melodic hip-hop style combined with wacky experimentation (both sonically and production-wise) that represents the growth of Cudi’s sound. From the get-go, one can tell this is a Cudi song that’s very unique to his sound in 2024 – a year in which he refuses to put projects on the back burner.
Cudi makes excellent use of roaring, fat 808s and rich synths, accentuating the bass grooves through the bass layers, adding a unique low-frequency depth to the track that ties the song to a physical experience, while the rest of the spectrum Encourage you to float.
This combined with his signature ethereal harmonies and uplifting hook style make this a sticky song – one that really is the best for musicians outside of traditional pop thing, especially a guy like Cudi with his unique experimentation. On the track, you can also hear a bass riff, a style rarely used in rap vocal mixes. Cudi clearly put his heart and soul into this project and the results are beautiful, especially in terms of his on-screen persona, where he looks really happy and relaxed.

The film supports the mood of the entire track very naturally, almost like a memoir or dream sequence documenting the artist’s experiences and live performances in Korea.
