Khalid’s ex-boyfriend, who goes by Hugo D. Almonte on Twitter (X), spoke out after revealing the singer’s sexual orientation.

On November 28, Almonte wrote a lengthy statement about the incident and claimed he was in a dark place, writing on Twitter: “I’m dating this jackass singer who is ugly as hell but He tried to frame me and lied that I broke into his house because I broke up with him, like if I broke up with you idiot, why would I go to your house and do all this.
Meanwhile, Almonte apologized for his omission, writing: “I made a mistake – a serious mistake. I exposed someone and it was wrong. No matter the circumstances, I was not the right person to do it.” I am truly sorry for revealing something so personal.
Almonte explained that he had been in a relationship with Khalid years ago but had always remained separate. He said what led him to expose Khalid was “years of emotional abuse, manipulation and relentless lies that took a toll on my mental health in ways I never imagined.”
But Almonte claims he “suddenly” started hearing rumors about him allegedly breaking into Khalid’s home and “stealing from them.” He continued, “Four years later, I received a piece of news that shocked me – I was told that the same accusation was still being circulated. This man was still telling people that I broke into their houses.
“To make matters worse, they sent me a direct message. They threatened me and said: ‘Good luck with your career. You’re lucky I didn’t get the police involved. Imagine being accused of something so serious. – something you know you haven’t done – and then be threatened with it.

But some people didn’t try to listen to Almonte’s explanation and, in fact, concluded that it only made things worse. One person said, “Why did you apologize and say something about him in the apology,” while another added, “Using ‘but’ after ‘apology’ is a way to invalidate sincerity.” How disgusting. You should keep it all.
Another asked, “Sir, where does this come from? He hasn’t spoken to you in 4 years and he never bothers anyone! What the hell!” Someone else pointed out, “This is so ironic.” Apologize. ‘I’m sorry but I’m the victim first’ you can keep it!
On November 22, Khalid was forced to talk about his sexuality after someone tweeted “Wait, hope Mr. Khalid isn’t GEHHH.” He replied, “I am! It doesn’t matter.” He quickly added, “You go.” “Next topic please lol. “I got eliminated but the world keeps on turning. Let’s be clear (lmao) I’m not ashamed of my sexuality! In fact it’s not a no-brainer It’s my fault! But I love you.”
He then retweeted another comment from a fan who said: “Closet is a glass baby. But we accept you. It’s not about who you love, it’s about your artistic talent.” He retorted: “I’m not hiding anything ! This is none of your business.
