DJ Mustard is eagerly anticipating the 2025 Super Bowl and believes he’ll be thrilled if halftime show headliner Kendrick Lamar performs “Not Like Us.”
In a recent interview, the West Coast producer weighed in on Big Game’s performance. While Mustard would have been happy to be on stage with Lamar when he sang the song, he would have been equally content to show up at the Superdome in New Orleans and maybe even shed a tear.
“I absolutely can’t wait to watch the Super Bowl, man. Can’t wait,” Wasabi told Billboard. “This year is going to be very special. I might cry [if he performs ‘Not Like Us.’] I’m so grateful to have him on stage. If he goes on stage to perform by himself and doesn’t call me, I won’t give ###. Just execute it.
He continued: “Don’t get me wrong – call me. If you want me, I’ll slide down. But I’ll be there anyway and act like I’m on stage. If I were in a box , they might show me on tv how crazy i am [I’ll be going]. I might stand on a chair. They might show me on TV, ‘He’s going crazy!

Mustard previously revealed that the track was his first collaboration with Lamar after years of production, with the former sending the latter five exclusive beats the day before the beef was released.
Despite producing the beat, Mustard, like everyone else, first heard Drake’s displeasure when K. Dot released the song.
“[When ‘Not Like Us’ dropped]I was on my way to the baby shower,” he explained in June. “We were on the highway…I got a text message, ‘[Kendrick] Dropped again,” and then I got another text like, “Mustard on the Rhythm,” and I was like, “What the hell did I miss?” And that’s what I heard while driving on the 405. way, and then I started getting excited…listening to it over and over again. I couldn’t believe it.
In addition to debuting at No. 1, “Not Like Us” is also expected to win a Grammy.
