Kendrick Lamar’s hit single “Not Light Us” continues to earn positive reviews as the song received three nominations for the upcoming 2025 American Music Awards.
Kendrick Lamar receives nine AMA nominations
On Thursday (April 23), the American Music Awards announced nominations for this year’s awards ceremony, which is scheduled to take place next month. “Don’t Like Us” in February, including three Amas, including Song of the Year, Favorite Music Videos and Favorite Hip Hop Songs. Compton, California-based rappers also received Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (GNX), Collaboration of the Year (“Luther” featuring SZA), Favorite Male Hip Hop Artist, Favorite Hip Hop Album (GNX) and Favorite Hip Hop Songs (with Metro Boomin and Future) and Futife).
Other hip-hop artists won awards include Drake, Doechii, Playboi Carti, Future, Weekend, PartyNextdoor, and more.
The 2025 AMA will be held in Las Vegas on May 26. Jennifer Lopez Wil hosted the event.

Kendrick Lamar’s huge year continues
Kendrick Lamar has an epic rap battle with Drake and continues to enjoy the biggest year of his career. In addition to the five Grammys mentioned above, K-Dot caused record ratings in the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. He recently starred in the new Gatorade Sports. News on the road is that Kendrick may also play a role in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Despite being the subject of Drake’s lawsuit, “Not like we don’t like us,” he filed a defamation lawsuit against the song in January.
