Kendrick Lamar once again topped Spotify’s list of the greatest hip-hop songs of the streaming era with his hit song “Alright.”

On Monday (May 20), Spotify released a list of the 100 songs that have dominated the streaming era, with Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 anthem album “Alright” taking the top spot. A compilation album with Sounwave and featured on To Kill With over 686 million plays on Spotify and 173 million views on YouTube, according to Billboard, “Butterfly” is a song that defined the 2010s song.
Kendrick Lamar’s acclaimed record, which empowered and reassured the Black community and provided hope through positive affirmation, earned four Grammy nominations and in 2016 Won two Gramophone Awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. “To Pimp a Butterfly” also attracted the attention of the Grammy Academy, where it was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album, ultimately winning the latter.

Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” hits No. 2 on Spotify’s Hip Hop Streaming Era chart
Cardi B follows K-Dot in second place with her hit single “Bodak Yellow.” After racking up 890 million streams on Spotify, Buddy’s career experienced a meteoric rise following the release of her debut, Grammy-winning first album, Invasion of Privacy ‘s lead single. “Bodak Yellow,” inspired by Kodak Black’s “No Flockin’,” also topped the Billboard 100 chart, making Cardi the first to do so since Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998 Solo female rapper feat.
A ton of songs that are still popular can be found on Spotify’s list of the greatest songs of the streaming era. In fact, Kendrick and Cardi were followed closely by Drake’s “God’s Plan” (2018), Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO Tour Llif3” (2017) and Future’s “March Madness” (2015).
