Kendrick Lamar added another trophy to his growing collection after winning an Emmy for his Apple Music Super Bowl Lix halftime show.
The victory was announced Sunday (September 7) at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, Marks Lamar’s Second Professional Emmy Awards.
His first time was in 2022, with Dre and Dr. Snoop Dogg in the Super Bowl LVI halftime show. This latest honor further cements his reputation for being creative not only in hip-hop but throughout the entertainment industry.
Lamar’s Super Bowl Lix suit is cheered for its bold visuals and layered musical guidance, acclaim for blending the performing arts with his iconic lyricism.
Although he did not attend the ceremony, he shared the award with music director Tony Russell.
Creative Arts Emmys focuses on behind-the-scenes beauty on TV, including live events and music specials. Lamar’s halftime performance stood out for his ambitious performance and musical executions.
That night, Lamar also caused waves at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, where he scored two technical wins for his “Don’t Like Us” video (Best Photography and Best Choreography).
He received 10 nominations overall, second only to Lady Gaga, who led by 12.
Despite participating in Artist of the Year, Lamar lost to Gaga. His album “GNX” also stood out in the Best Album category, which is Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short N’Sweet”.
His duet with SZA on “Luther” was nominated for Best Collaboration, while Ariana Grande won the Best Video Camera for “Great Days to Come”.
Lamar’s Emmy Win brings him closer to Egot’s identity – he now has Emmy and Grammy Awards. He has previously won Grammys for Album of the Year, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance.
