R. Kelly’s efforts, which began pardoning the president’s pardon from Donald Trump, are facing fierce rejection from the Joycelyn Savage family, who said their daughter still has no blame and is under the control of the shameful singer.
Gerald Griggs, a lawyer for the Barbarian Family, told TMZ that the family strongly opposed any efforts to release R. Kelly from prison, citing that they have always believed that Joycelyn is still affected by him.
According to Griggs, R. Kelly should not be released because Joycelyn Savage is still missing and is considered to be the direct authority of R. Kelly.
The family had previously said they had not contacted Joycelyn directly since a brief call in 2019.
Her parents, Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage, have long accused Kelly of quarantining her daughter and controlling her communication.
“When my dad passed by, we tried to get in touch with Joycelyn. We had to always reach out to help. [Kelly’s] camp,” Timothy said in an interview in 2021.
Jonjelyn called Joycelyn’s past calls “scripts” and added: “We want to have a one-on-one discussion with you as family.”

Kelly, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexual trafficking and child pornography, is now seeking leniency from Trump.
His legal team claimed he was targeted for murder plots inside the prison, accusing corrections officers of early releases for members of the Aryan Brotherhood in exchange for the killing of his identity.
They also said he suffered from forced drugs and lonely imprisonment.
Prosecutors regard these claims as useful. The judge plans to hear the debate on the matter on Thursday (June 20).
Kelly’s legal troubles began with a series of federal indictments, including allegations of child pornography and coercion by minors. He was convicted in New York and later sentenced again in Chicago. His defense team said new evidence could overturn the conviction.
But, the savage family said, this did not change the fact that they still don’t know where their daughter is or her condition.
