Kehlani’s ex-husband is reportedly seeking full custody of their daughter and has made a number of accusations the singer’s way.
Singer and guitarist Javaughn Young-White has filed for a paternity test, saying he believes the Oakland native has been involved in a cult over the past few years, which apparently caused a stir, according to documents obtained by TMZ on Monday (August 5). People are worried about their 5-year-old child’s growing up experience.
According to Javon, the cult’s leader has been accused of sexual assault multiple times, and he fears their daughter Adya may also be at risk of abuse.
Young White also said Keilani was so deeply controlled by the cult leaders that they now made her think he was a threat to her daughter and kept her away from him.
In response to the petition, the judge ordered the pair to attend mediation to reach a mutually agreeable parenting plan.
Kehlani gave birth to Adeya in March 2019 and split from Javaughn shortly after. Later that year, she briefly dated YG, but later confirmed that she was fully lesbian.
Her gender identity has made her friendship with fellow Bay Area member Saweetie and the “FDT” rapper a breeze, as they are now dating.
During a June chat with Hot 97, Kehlani opened up about her relationship with the pair after host Nessa praised her as a “cool” ex.
“Since I’m a lesbian, why should I care about my male ex?” the 29-year-old said with a laugh. “I also don’t care what my ex is doing – male, female, anything. My goal is for everyone to be happy. Even when I’m with someone, if we decide we’re unhappy with each other, we really don’t We should be together and we should be with those who make us happy. I love Saweetie!
“I think she’s cute and great. We sing a song together. We hang out. She’s cool. They make sense. It’s like knowing both of them, I’m like, you know what? I really Love this. I told him, ‘I love this so much. You guys look so cute together.
Kehlani also pointed out that she’s not the jealous type, adding, “I’m very proud of it, frankly. That would be embarrassing. If it bothers me, you’ll never know! That’s why I only throw Pour it once.
