Kanye West is slowly making his way back into the hip-hop conversation, leaking demos and collaborations to the public. First there were reference tracks, then the latest demo leaks (featuring Kodak Black), and now the album announcement. Does this smell like a launch?
For fans, not so much (even with the recent announcement that Kanye plans to release a Bully album on December 12, 2025). The date has been publicly changed three times before this, so a new date announcement doesn’t really raise expectations. At one point, it was even supposed to coincide with his daughter’s birthday.
While many believe that Bully will replace his critically acclaimed My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, there is another faction that believes Kanye’s production abilities have faded.
Especially considering he once had a legendary creative force like Rick Rubin. Additionally, fans remember Ye’s leaked version on X (and the Bully movie). How will the new version be different? Can Kanye say yes to the naysayers? We’ll find out on December 12th
