Is Kanye West no longer making music professionally?
In a text message conversation with Rich The Kid, the rap mogul said he was “retiring from professional music.” He added that he wasn’t sure “what else to do” until his regular collaborators came up with some suggestions.
Rich tells you that people need him and that the music they created together on Vultures 1 is “the biggest cultural imprint of 2024 so far.” He then suggested that while it would be nice to take some time off to relax, “retirement wouldn’t do it.”
It’s unclear what the text messages Kanye sent to Rich The Kid actually meant. Kanye and Ty recently announced that they will hold a Vultures listening event at Goyang Stadium in South Korea on the 23rd of next month. “Condor 2” was originally scheduled to be released on May 3, but there was no progress on that day.
Ty recently told Billboard that the new album is almost complete. “We got all the songs. Basically, it was like, ‘How do we get there? How do we make it bigger than the first album?” he said. “Some people might expect you to make the exact same sound. But that sound is already out.
