John Legend did not back down when he tagged Donald Trump as “parabe” and “terrible leader” at an event in Hollywood.
R&B singer’s record of Trump’s 15% promised to appear at 15% of Vowed neighborhood parties in Hollywood in February, accusing him of promoting racial superiority.
“He’s a paranoid,” the legend said to a crowd that responded loudly. “It’s a hierarchy that believes in racial groups, whose group is genetically superior.”
The Grammy Award-winning artists didn’t stop there. He slammed Trump’s leadership style, especially during times of crisis.
“The United States made a decision that I strongly disagree with,” he said of the 2024 election results. “It seems that we are harvesting a whirlwind now, making someone a terrible leader, especially in a crisis. He is already blaming people, misleading people, and splitting people into bringing people together …being partners …being partners, you know.”
The legend also targeted Trump’s personnel choices, comparing former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin with conservative commentator Pete Hegseth.
The legend says: “This is his level of paranoidness.” “Any white man is better than this.”

The clip, originally recorded in February 2024, resurfaced online in April 2025, hitting tensions hard between legendary, his wife Chrissy Teigen and Trump.
The couple often criticized Trump, dating back to 2019 when Trump called Tegan “dirty mouth” and regarded the legend as “boring musician.”
Legend has always opposed Trump’s view of race. He said in 2023: “He has made it clear throughout his life that he believes black people are inferior.
