Jim Jones believes he makes more sense than NAS, saying Queensbridge legend hasn’t talked about since his hatred with Jay-Z in the early 2000s.
When asked about the ongoing debate that puts it in relation to NAS, the Harlem rapper did not back down when he spoke to the “Pack of Fuel” podcast of DJ’s clues earlier this week.
“He has never been this virus,” Jones said. His recent comments have brought Nass back to the attention.
Jones believes that cultural existence and popularity are more important than a separate legacy.
“There are a lot of people selling records that no longer exist than I do,” he said. “What I did for NAS may never have done for him. He was never that virus.”

Waving on the “Joe & Jada” podcast, Jim Jones asked about Nas’ current position in hip-hop, the conversation started in June 2025.
This appearance reignited a wave of online chats, and many people are in the music industry today whether Nas is very powerful.
Jones is not there. He questioned Nas’s lyrical reputation beyond his influence and said people were “falling into sales”, which suggests that business success does not always equal cultural significance.
He also made it clear that there was no personal connection between the two. “I personally don’t know Nas,” Jones said, adding that he didn’t care.
Jim Jones previously admitted that the NAS comparison is partly strategic. He said the move helped boost his streaming numbers and get attention.
