Last year, the lawsuit filed by Jane Doe was accused of Jay-Z and Diddy being dismissed.
Rape lawsuit against Jay-Z and Diddy is dropped
Attorney Tony Buzbee has filed a rape lawsuit against Jay-Z and Diddy, which was filed in civil court last year by Jane Doe. On Friday (February 14), Buzby filed a notice of voluntary dismissal in the southern part of New York on the grounds that plaintiff Jane Doe voluntarily rejected the lawsuit.
The plaintiff claimed that at the age of 13 in 2000, she was raped by Jay-Z and Diddy at a family gathering after the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City. Jane Doe initially filed a lawsuit against Diddy last October, then took new information on sexual assault on Hov in December 2024. Last December, she conducted a wise interview with NBC News’ claims and admitted that she had made mistakes in the story.
Over the past few months, the lawsuit has sparked a legal war between Buzbee and Jay-Z. HOV sued Tony Buzbee for extortion ahead of a rape lawsuit filed last year. Butzby accused Jay of paying for a lawyer to sue his former client.
While the lawsuit was dismissed was a victory for both rappers, Diddy was still behind in the prison at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, where he awaited trial of the sex crimes.
Roc Nation issued Jay-Z’s statement after the firing:
“Today was a victory. The rash, fiction and shocking allegations were dismissed. This civil lawsuit is of no benefit and will never go anywhere. The fictional story they created is ridiculous, if not for the sake of making the claim The severity. I don’t want this to be experienced in anyone.
The 1-800 lawyers could file a suite hidden behind Jane Du, and when they quickly realize that the money grab failed, they would walk away without any impact. The system failed.
Of course, the court must protect the victims and despite the same moral responsibility, the court must protect innocent people from being charged without a large amount of evidence. May all victims and those who have been wrongly accused of prevail. —Shaan Carter”
Didi’s team also provided this statement to XXL:
“Today, there is no 1-800 lawyers to resolve the case, which is another confirmation that these lawsuits are based on falsehood, not factuality. For months, we have seen cases filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity. After the case, lawyers focus more on media headlines than the legal merits. Like this claim, others will collapse because they have no truth. Sean Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone Anyone – adult or minor. No number of lawsuits, sensational allegations or media dramas will change this reality. We will continue to fight and assume responsibility for these unfounded claims. It is just not in many courts The first one to hold. ”
Tony Buzbee has no comment on the matter.
