Jay Rock found himself in custody in Los Angeles Thursday night after allegedly trying to escape from police.
The legal name for the rapper is Johnny Reed McKinzy
According to authorities, when police pulled Jay Rock over, he reportedly tried to leave the vehicle and leave the scene.
Police claimed that the rapper was invading and drinking in public under NBC 4 Los Angeles.
The video circulated online, capturing the moment Jay Rock was escorted in handcuffs.
Police later revealed that a firearm was found in his car and booked a Grammy Award rapper in suspected felony violations.
This incident happened before Jay Rock teased new music on social media, suggesting an upcoming album.
He also recently made headlines on Kendrick Lamar’s surprise track “The Reaction of Heart PT.” 6.”
Jay admitted the blindness of Kendrick’s accidental release, initially mistaken for an AI-generated scam when he first heard about it via Twitter.
Realizing that this was true, he contacted Kendrick directly. Jay Rock publicly praised the song, saying everything Kendrick expressed was true and claimed there was “No Skips” in the album.
“He gave it straight, no chasers,” he said on Power 106’s “Brown Bag Morning Show” last December. “That’s everything there. Everything he said on that record is truth.”
