Jamie Foxx returns to Atlanta’s stand-up comedy scene to share his insights into the health trials of 2023.
The actor and comedian took center stage during a three-day solo performance taped for a Netflix special titled “What’s Going On.”
Foxx talked about turning last April’s mysterious health scare into comedy fodder in an interview with CBS Morning’s Gayle King.
“It was a painful time and every day was opening up those wounds,” Fox said.
He noted the risks inherent in mixing humor with personal pain: “We put on a great show in the room, but we don’t know what they might laugh at, or what they might not laugh at.”
Foxx had hinted at the deeply personal show on Instagram, promising a night filled with laughter, emotion and encouragement.
His stand-up performance was equal parts tearful and hilarious, leaving Kim in awe: “I’ve never seen a show where the audience laughed and cried at the same time,” she praised, adding, “Only you can do that. “Did it. “
At the end of the event, Fox raised a glass to family and friends and expressed optimism for the future. “Let’s sit back, watch, and build a newer, brighter, healthier future together,” he said with a toast.
Fans are eagerly awaiting more information on when the special will air.
