If you’ve been living under a rock, J. Cole is releasing his so-called magnum opus on February 6th. Ten years in the making, “Fall-Off” is the result of the North Carolina rapper putting his pen to the test and giving it his all so he could end his career knowing he’d pushed himself to the limit. Check out the album’s trailer here.
However, it seems the good news isn’t over yet for J. Cole fans.
In the latest episode of their podcast, Jadakiss and Fat Joe talked about the release and their expectations for the album. But while talking about it, Kiss revealed some bombshell news.
He revealed that in addition to “The Fall-Off,” J. Cole will be releasing a mixtape in which he will rap over other people’s beats, including The LOX’s “Money, Power & Respect” and Black Rob’s “Can I Live,” which also features The LOX. It’s possible that Cole cleared the beat with Kiss, Sheek and Louch, and Kiss wasn’t supposed to put that information out there, but it looks like we have a Cole mixtape to look forward to. This could explain the multiple vinyl releases included in the album packaging, or it could be that It’s A Boy was announced years ago. Maybe we’ll get something for Cole’s birthday on the 28th. All remains to be seen, but the excitement is sure to grow.
