J. Cole responded to Kendrick Lamar’s criticism of the song “7 Minute Drill,” which appears on his surprising new album, Might Delete Later.
We know that on “Like That” from the Metro Boomin & Future album, Kendrick came out of nowhere and shot Drake. Cole also caught some stray dogs, and Kendrick said there was no Big Three, and he was the biggest of them.
Now Cole has responded to Kendrick, calling his sophomore album To Pimp A Butterfly boring and his last album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers a “tragedy.”
“He’s still acting, but he’s fallen like The Simpsons
Yo, the first thing is classic, the last thing is tragic
Yo, the second shit put Knick to sleep but they killed it with gas
Your third shit is huge and that’s your prime
I followed closely behind, and now he bumped into my
Now I’m at the front of the pack and have a comfortable lead
How ironic, now I understand, he wanted to do something with me. “
Before the line above, he also raps, “He averages a hard verse every 30 months or something like that/If he didn’t dissing, we wouldn’t be talking about him.”
