This coming Monday will mark the tenth anniversary of J. Cole’s release of his third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The rapper has done a lot of celebrating and reminiscing recently by releasing his early mixtapes and his Inevitable audio series on streaming, and now he’s celebrating what many consider to be his best album.
J. Cole has released two new versions of 2014FHD, each featuring four new songs not included on the album. People have already started receiving one of the vinyl records, so we can hear covers of four of the songs.
Check them out below and stay tuned for other batches on other vinyl releases/These are for fans of Cole as a storyteller. They’re incredible, but you can understand how they didn’t fit the concept of the album. Fans noticed that “Die Together” featured Cole rapping from the perspective of the same person featured in the 4 Your Eyez Only album concept.
