Layzie Bone says he doesn’t like the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake and says hip-hop in general is “counterproductive.” HipHopDX caught him discussing the feud during a recent appearance on The Maikon Show.

“I don’t like it at all [Kendrick and Drake’s beef] Because I’m a fan of both of them,” Layzie began. “I love Drake. I really admire Drake and I think his wordplay is flawless. He puts out cool music. I love Kendrick. · Lamar. Really like Kendrick Lamar. I’d rather see them come together as a force than be divided. I know a lot of people are saying that. [Hip Hop] Being built on beef and all that – yeah, cool, fine, but I saw the impact that had on the NWA and I was cut from that cloth. I was lucky enough to be a kid who lived in the community and lived that life and lived the stories they told. That’s my favorite group and then they just complain and waste.

He continued, “I also saw Eazy-E trying to get his team back together but they couldn’t because they wasted so much time and he died in the end. I saw it to Biggie and Pac The impact. It’s so divisive to me that it’s so cool that I can write a rap about you and what I think is funny. Make people laugh or shame you and try to make you see yourself in a way you don’t want to see yourself. But that’s not where I want to go because if you’re really angry I think you should try boxing or a combination. Fight or something like that. Just put it in and go grab a beer. Elsewhere in the interview, Lacy discusses his mother’s death, his personal life, and more. Check it out below.

Layzie Bone Talks Kendrick Lamar and Drake Feud

Layzie isn’t the first person in hip-hop to express frustration with the beef. Charlamagne Tha God, Big Daddy Kane and more also commented negatively on the situation. Stay tuned for further updates on Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s feud on HotNewHipHop.
