You know Su Qihua, right? Yes, she’s a real hardcore chick from Delaware, Miami and a few other places. Most recently, she was arrested on suspicion of selling codeine and other substances. This didn’t cause too much of a stir, though, as she’s more of a reality TV star than a hip-hop artist. Her mugshot? Oh, the internet went viral.
Here’s what the news team reports:
Sukihana, whose real name is Destiny Lanette Henderson, is being held at the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach. The charges she faces include possession of codeine for the purpose of sale, delivery or manufacture and possession of ecstasy for the same purpose. Bond was set at $5,000 for the codeine charge and $2,500 for the MDMA charge.
Now, this is a rumor. I’ve heard from multiple sources, including booking agents and promoters, who claim Suki cheated them. “Fraud” is a better word, but let’s be honest here – they said she took their money. how? Typically when you book someone for a gig, they get half of the advance and the rest when they perform or arrive at the venue. Occasionally, organizers may come down hard on artists in crowded venues, but this is rare.
Word on the street is that Suki received an advance but then failed to show up at the venue. I don’t know exactly how much she was paid, but most rappers make a decent amount of money, even the talented ones. On the low end, they might make $10,000 per show. If you have $5,000 or $10,000 in your pocket and do nothing with it, you’re essentially getting money for free. I can’t confirm that she’s doing this, but I can tell you that these are the accusations that some people are making. Most have not gone public yet and may be debating whether to take legal action or denounce her on social media. For all I know, they’ll probably go the legal route, but don’t quote me on that.
Meanwhile, Suki has other issues to deal with, not least her legal issues. She was smiling in the photo, but no one was smiling now. What do you think?
