Ice Spice is preparing to make his screen debut alongside Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington in Spike Lee’s upcoming crime thriller High and Low.
According to Variety , the iconic actor and director duo will reunite for the fifth time. They have previously collaborated on Mo’ Better Blues, Malcolm X, He Got Game and Inside Man.
The Bronx native makes his film debut in the thriller, an English-language reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s crime thriller of the same name.
Apple Original Films has partnered with A24 to produce the film, but no official release date has been set yet. However, A24 will release High and Low theatrically before its global release on AppleTV+.
Not much is known about Bing Spice’s role in High and Low, but fans will soon find out. On Wednesday (April 10), Apple Original Films announced that production has begun by sharing a post with Lee and Washington.
“No. 5 now in production,” it reads.

While Ice Spice has tested her acting skills in multiple ad campaigns and even branched out into the fashion industry, High and Low will be her first full-length project. Although she’s been rapidly rising in the music industry since bursting onto the scene in 2022 with her breakout single “Munch (Feelin’ U),” performing is her first love.
“I really don’t like seeing myself as a rapper,” Spice explained on Hot97’s Ebro in the Morning last year. “I always wanted to be an actor. This was like my first passion.”
