Ice Spice says she really doesn’t understand why Lato is angry with her.
Just the day before her debut album Y2K! The Bronx princess appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine on Thursday, July 25, in an attempt to address rumors that she was feuding with the “Big Mama” rapper.
“I feel like if we had ever talked, I would have asked her, ‘What’s the problem?’ Like a blank stare. There really wouldn’t be anything wrong. Especially me,” she said.
In early 2024, fans speculated wildly that Ice Spice’s song “Think U the Shit (Fart)” was a veiled reference to Latto. The music video for “Big Energy” was shot in Ice’s hometown of the Bronx, and the rhyme responds to criticism from Sunday Service in February, expressing what some saw as Ice’s dissatisfaction. Latto also flipped Ice Spice’s single when she received “Think I’m the st, bh????” A poop emoji cake at the Atlanta Birthday Bash concert in June.

“I can understand a friendly competition, but I just think it’s just a joke she was dragged out of and it’s not funny at all. Like, man, ‘Think U the Shit’ is the song of the month,” Ice continued said. “Are you going to post a cake to announce something that’s good news for you? But it’s a compliment because you’re filming something that should be a fun moment for you and you turn it into about me.
In Latto’s Billboard cover story, she downplayed the prospect of a potential rap battle with Ice Spice. “If I do [a battle], it had to be someone that I felt I wanted to go toe-to-toe with,” Lato said. “I really didn’t mean it was a shadow. Is she willing to do that?
