Ice Cube Coyly avoids rumors that the upcoming comedian’s secret cameo appearance in the 1997 thriller Anaconda.
The iconic rapper-turned actor was recently discovered in Queensland, which has sparked speculation, joining a new snake-themed comedy starring Paul Rudd and Jack Black.
When the host asked about a potential cameo, Ice Cube played with the trademark sly wit.
“I’ve never seen them. Before the Sydney show, I was just doing some sightseeing and hanging out. I haven’t seen Jack Black or Paul Rudd. I don’t know what you’re talking about!” “Along the stars” joked.
The original 1997 “Anaconda” features Ice Cube with Jennifer Lopez and Jon Voight, documenting the horrific misfortune of documentary crews in the Amazon jungle and being hunted by a giant green snake.
Cube famously revealed on social media platform X in 2022 that he agreed to star in the original movie under the strict conditions of his character Danny surviving the ordeal.
“When they asked me to do Anaconda, I said I would only do it when my character lives and helps kill the snake. Before that, most of the black people in this kind of movies died in the first 15 minutes (sic).” Ice Cube wrote frankly.
A new comedy spin, scheduled for December release, followed by two nostalgic friends (nostalgic friends played by Rudd and Black) trek into the jungle to recreate their favorite childhood.
Soon, they faced a double threat – huge snakes and cruel criminals.
Black plays wedding photographer Doug, while Rudd plays the role of Griff, a permanently overlooked background actor.
The eclectic ensemble cast includes Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, Steve Zahn, Ione Skye and Brazilian actor Selton Mello. Merlot confirmed last week via Instagram that the film has been officially packaged and produced.
Meanwhile, Ice Cube continued his Australian tour, performing live in Sydney on Friday before heading to Melbourne for Sunday’s show.
Whether or not it actually slips into the jungle to revisit his reptile’s past remains a mystery.
