Ice Cube claimed in a recent interview that Diddy is being targeted due to the disgraced music mogul’s ongoing lawsuits and accusations.
Ice Cube on Diddy’s downfall
On Monday (July 15), an episode of the PBD Podcast hosted by Patrick Bet-David was uploaded on YouTube. In the video below, Patrick sits down with Ice Cube as they discuss a variety of topics like the rapper-actor’s upbringing, his relationship with former rap icon Tupac Shakur, and more. Midway through the conversation, the focus shifted to Diddy’s legal troubles.
After the podcast host asked NWA members to share his thoughts on Puff’s reported violence, Ice Cube said he wasn’t surprised by what the Harlem artist went through and called the hip-hop industry “wild west”. Ice Cube has since claimed that the founder of Bad Boys Entertainment was targeted.
“I believe he was targeted,” Ace says at the 1:11:21 mark in the video below. “I believe someone has the ability to pull the trigger and make something like this. There’s this domino effect that happens.”
Later in the film, Ice Cube revealed that while he hadn’t done much research into Diddy’s accusations, he noticed that Puff “calmed down at some point, and then this started happening.”

Didi faces legal trouble
In November 2023, Didi’s ex-girlfriend Cassie filed a lawsuit against Didi in Manhattan Federal District Court. Didi’s reputation suffered a major blow. Didi settled the lawsuit a day later. Since then, Didi’s other victims have also spoken out. As a result, the once-admired rap star faces eight lawsuits and a reported sex trafficking investigation.
On May 17, Diddy was stripped of several of his accolades, including an honorary degree from Howard University, after CNN released a 2016 video clip of him beating singer Cassie and Keys to New York City, among others. Even though Diddy publicly apologized to Cassie in a since-deleted video posted on Instagram, Diddy still faced backlash.
Puffs recently Danyel Smith, former editor-in-chief of Vibe, pointed this out in an article published in the New York Times on July 12. In this lengthy article, she revealed Diddy reportedly threatened to see her “die in the trunk” of her car after she didn’t allow him to change the cover photo for the magazine’s December 1997/January 1998 issue.
