Ghais Guevara has shared “The Old Guard Is Dead,” a new single from his upcoming album Goyard Ibn Said. In the song, Guevara changes his voice at several points while rapping about falling into the temptations of wealth as he became more successful. “Mom, look, I did catch a storm/warned me of all the threats of temptation/now fast forward, my clue was Dio/I got hit, I passed the torch to her,” he raps on the opening verse. As for the song’s creative direction, as reported by the Clash, he said: “Constraints always breed innovation, and this song is an example of that.
