Future has already released two of the best-selling rap albums of 2024, and there’s clearly more to come. Hendrix has been brewing a new mixtape for months, in which the Atlanta rhyme will attempt to become the first rapper to have three No. 1 hits on the Billboard 200 in one year. As Future continues to tease his upcoming project Mixtape Pluto, here’s everything we know about the highly anticipated release.

After teasing fans with the return of Mixtape Pluto in May, Future has been hard at work on the project. Later that month, he insisted he wouldn’t sleep until the tapes were finished. Metro Boomin will likely be a key contributor on the production side of things, although this has yet to be confirmed. Producer Southside has confirmed that he will provide beats for the upcoming tape. “I’m working with Future right now on Mixtape Pluto,” he told XXL in a July interview.
Travis Scott will also be involved in the project, as evidenced by promotional tweets for the tape and the release of a video showing the two rappers in the studio.

Future has kept his music secret. However, in the aforementioned Travis Scott promotional video, an unreleased track called “South of France” is playing in the background, which may have appeared on the tape. The 44-second clip also reveals some of the recording process that took place at the famous Miraval studio in the south of France. The state-of-the-art recording studio space owned by Brad Pitt is where Travis Scott recorded portions of his Utopia album. Other notable acts recorded at the studio include Sade, Pink Floyd and The Cure.

A mixtape cover for the project has also been announced. The unassuming artwork simply displays the title in a fuchsia font on a black background.

There are some unconfirmed rumors about the project. The tape is rumored to be released on September 13th and will contain 10 tracks. There was also a Lil Baby collaboration that was reportedly canceled. Baby appears in the Miraval Studio session clip. The project will feature all new material recorded over the past year.
