Freddie Gibbs was fired from Crypto.com Arena after his manager nuked Lakers center Jaxson Hayes on the sidelines.
Freddie Gibbs’ head coach Ben Lambert got too comfortable on the sidelines and paid the price with a total ban.
During Sunday night’s Lakers-Knicks showdown, Lambert was escorted out of Crypto.com Arena for thoroughly cooking Jaxon Hayes. The security guard didn’t.
The whole thing was captured on Gibbs’ Instagram Stories. Lambert showed zero indifference in the Lakers’ offense at center.
“You average two points a game and you’re 7-foot-5. Trash, trash, trash,” Rambo yelled from his courtside seat. The man didn’t flinch.
But that’s not the worst part. Gibbs pointed to the legal turmoil Hayes has caused since January over the mascot incident.
“Let me tell you something first, boy, don’t act tough. You’ve already got a lawsuit from the mascot. Come over here and you’re going to get another one, punk,” Gibbs continued. Cold-blooded.
Security quickly intervened and removed Lambert from the building. Gibbs filmed the entire ejection for his followers.
“They just pulled Rambo out of the game because he talked some shit about Jaxon Hayes,” Gibbs wrote in the video, while documenting his own manager being thrown out.
Hayes has been dealing with the aftermath of shoving Wizards mascot G-Wiz during pregame warmups in January. He received a one-game suspension for the mix-up.
The mascot performers weren’t having fun either. They hired attorney Woking McCoy and filed the entire lawsuit against Hayes, the New York Post reported.
Hayes later tried to clean up the matter and apologized. “It should be handled differently. And, you know, we live and learn,” he said. Too little too late.
A die-hard Knicks fan, Gibbs was notorious for his courtside antics. However, the plot twists. His daughter Irie was at his side, rocking a No. 8 Lakers Kobe Bryant jersey. The family separated on the sidelines.
Despite a lot of drama in the stands, the Lakers ended up winning 110-97.
