Fetty Wap is out of prison, but will reportedly be incarcerated at home until later this year.
Sources claim the New Jersey rapper was freed on Thursday (January 8) after footage surfaced of a meeting at his record label, 300 Entertainment. The “Trap Queen” rapper was released from the Federal Correctional Institution in Sandstone, Minnesota on Wednesday (January 7) and will spend the remainder of his sentence in community confinement under the supervision of the Philadelphia Bureau of Prisons’ Office of Residential Reentry Management, CNN reported.
Federal Bureau of Prisons records show Fetty’s home incarceration end date is November 6, 2026. XXL has reached out to Fetty Wap’s team for comment.
Fetty Wap, born Willie Maxwell, was released after serving more than three years of a 72-month sentence for conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances in connection with a multi-state drug trafficking operation. He released a statement to XXL about this new chapter in his life.
“I want to thank my family, friends, and fans for their love, prayers, and continued support — it truly means everything to me,” the statement read. “Currently, my focus is on giving back through my community initiatives and foundation, supporting at-risk young children by expanding educational opportunities, early technology skills, and vision care for young children and students so they can be their best selves. I am committed to moving forward with purpose and making a meaningful impact where it matters most.”
Fetty Wap’s latest album “King Zoo” will be released in 2023.
