Fetty Wap showed up at his alma mater in Paterson just weeks after being released from federal prison.
On March 3, Fetty Wap walked into Eastside High School to remind teenagers that redemption doesn’t need a script.
Two months after his early release from federal prison, the Paterson native showed up at the school where he dropped out in 10th grade to inspire students.
The rapper performed, danced and interacted with a group of energetic kids who screamed when they recognized their hometown hero, North Jersey reports.
For a man who spent years behind bars, the visit marked a turning point.
Fetty Wap was recently sentenced to prison time for her role in a multi-million dollar drug ring.
He was sentenced to six years in prison in May 2023 for conspiracy to possess and distribute cocaine, but was released early on January 8, 2026, after serving approximately three years.
Now, he’s using his second chance on an empowerment tour of New Jersey schools.
The energy source in the East End is electricity. Students saw more than just a rapper who made “Trap Queen” popular. What they saw was a man who faced serious consequences, served his time and came back to tell them some real things about choice and comeback.
He’s showing what it looks like to get out of prison early and rebuild in real time.
The message is clear: your past does not determine your future, and your hometown will never forget you.
