Fat Joe recently got candid about why he’s not getting involved in the ongoing feud between hip-hop husband-and-wife duo Remy Ma and Papoose.
The New York rap veteran recently explained his reasoning on the Mashofa Podcast while addressing Remy and Paps’ recent feud on social media surrounding boxer Clarissa Shields. Although he has been a peacemaker and a bridge between rappers he considers family, the Bronx legend revealed that the situation hit too close to home for him to get involved. Joe first explained how he discovered the tension just hours after a night of celebrating with his “All The Way Up” collaborators.
“she [Remy Ma] She never told me about her personal relationship, but what I do know is that I left you guys last night and we went to a Brooklyn diner and she had 10 grown men over for dinner and I woke up in the morning and my phone was going crazy. ,” Fat Joe said in part. “They were like, ‘Yo, look what’s going on. I’m like, what the hell is going on?

When asked about how he handles his relationship with Remy and Paps, Fat Joe admitted it was a difficult situation.
“She made me love him because of him,” he said, emphasizing his connection with Paps. “I really love him and he’s my goddaughter’s father. It’s a whole lot of, you know, I guess, I try to tell you guys I’m old-school moral and ###. Like I’m, damn It’s like I’m the godfather. These people died and I raised the kids. I don’t like that.
Although Joe loved both of them dearly, he made it clear that he did not believe he was the right person to mediate.
“I can’t stop it or they won’t listen to me,” he admitted. “The first time she came to me for advice, I said, ‘Listen, this is different. You have a husband and this is your husband. No one comes to my house and tells my wife this. This is yours. Husband, I can’t get involved in this.
Fat Joe also spoke about the emotional strain of the situation, especially because of the couple’s children.
“My goddaughter is the most beautiful child in the world,” he said. “She’s so… you know, I hope this doesn’t happen.”
When asked about protecting his children from public drama, Joe also explained his son’s reaction during his infamous feud with 50 Cent, reflecting on his own experience dealing with public disagreements as a celebrity.
