Fat Joe says J. Cole tarnished his legacy after apologizing to Kendrick Lamar.
The rapper sat down with the Jay Shetty Podcast for an episode that aired on Monday (July 29). He offered his thoughts on the impact the Dreamville leader’s backing down from his rap battle with K. Dot had on his reputation.
Joe began: “Me and 50 Cent had one of the biggest, most dangerous arguments and I was sitting next to him at the game yesterday and having the best time in the world. We’re brothers. When you’re in hip-hop When your name is called, you have to respond. I’m a big J. Cole fan, but that’s when it all started.
“He probably saw it was going to get really messy and ugly, so he said, ‘Yo, you know this isn’t me, I don’t want any part of it.’ But, he did get a stripe… They took it out because in hip-hop, when they tell you to come out, you come out.

Fat Joe isn’t the only rapper to take issue with J. Cole’s apology.
Back in May, Kanye West attacked J. Cole while discussing the issue.
During an interview with Justin Laboy on The Download podcast, Kanye called Cole a “coward” for backing down from his rap battle with K. Dot, whom he was on ” Shots were exchanged in “Like That” and “7 Minute Drill.”
“Fuck that shit. Fuck all that shit, man. Because like n-gga J. Cole is touring with Drake. He knows what that is. Like, man, you can’t run now ,” Ye said, referring to Cole and Drizzy’s co-titled Big As the What? ” travel.
50 Cent also seemed unhappy with the idea of another rapper backing down from a feud.
Along with a screenshot of the North Carolina native’s comment, 50 people wrote on Instagram: “How I miss this @realcoleworld call me now!”
However, other MCs sided with the “No Role Modelz” rapper.
TI expressed support for Cole, saying, “I feel like he chose peace and tranquility. You have to be thick-skinned and really be poised and take things in stride. We didn’t know Cole’s temperament or dynamic sensitivity. We never Having seen Cole distraught, we don’t know where this will take him.
